Emir of Kano criticizes Zamfara Governor over comments on disease

Sanusi, on the other hand, spoke on Wednesday, April 5, at an event organized by the Kaduna Sate Government to encourage investments.
“Don’t give these kind of explanations. That is not an Islamically correct statement to make,” the Emir said.
“(If) you don’t have vaccines, you don’t have vaccines; Go and get vaccines,” he added.
More than 300 people have died of the disease in Nigeria with 215 of those deaths being recorded in Zamfara.
Meanwhile, the Senate has urged the Federal Ministry of Health to make treatment for meningitis free in public hospitals across the country.
