Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, Bodejo said there is need for all Fulani herdsmen to protect themselves from getting infected with the virus that causes the Lassa fever.
He said all huts must be protected against the virus and advised communities to follow the Federal government instructions and avoid certain foods such as Garri and Rats.
Bodejo said herdsmen should stop drying food on the roads and around their homes adding that they should beware of Rats that are escaping from bushes into huts.
“If you discover any Child, Man or Woman vomiting, or have malaria that lasted more than two days, rushed such a person to the nearest hospital for medical examination or you should call Miyetti Allah leaders, ”Bodejo said.
He said herdsmen are at risk of being affected because they leave in the bushes for the care of their cattle. He called on the Federal government to send their team of health workers to sensitize the Fulanis.
