Ojo Maduekwe was a patriot – Minister says
The former minister died in his Abuja residence on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the age of 71.

Reports say the minister of information wrote a condolence letter to Maduekwe’s family.
An excerpt of the letter obtained from Daily Post reads: “There is no doubt that his death is a big loss, not only to his immediate and extended family but to the entire Nigerian nation, which he served so well in many capacities, including as Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation; Minister of Transport; Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as Ambassador to Canada.
“Please take solace in the good name he left behind as well as his legacy of service to fatherland”
Late Ojo Maduekwe was the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
