3 people who have called for minister’s sack

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun is currently in the eye of the storm due to the economic crisis in the country.

Nigeria's Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun speaks at a news conference in Lagos, Nigeria, April 9, 2016.

Some persons have blamed the recession on the minister and have even called for her sack or redeployment.

Three people who have demanded the minister’s sack are:

1. Dino Melaye: “The finance minister has not only displayed gross incompetence on the job, she also lacks the basic and rudimentary grasp of economic fundamentals necessary to run a critical sector of the Nigerian economy like the finance ministry,” the senator said.

2. Ike Ekweremadu: “The minister for finance can do much better in another ministry. At this critical time we need somebody who is more experienced to man the ministry of finance so that he can be able to coordinate the strategies for this recovery,” Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu said.

3. Civil Servants at the Ministry of Finance: “Kemi's incompetence has not only affected the staff of the ministry alone but Nigeria at large. She is not doing anything as far as we are concerned. That is why we are out here this morning and we will be here to prevent her from going into that office,” a staff of the ministry, simply identified as Olu, said. The workers, on Monday, June 20, shut down the ministry in protest and demanded Mrs Adeosun’s sack.
