'Why Dogara offered lawmakers $25,000 at his Abuja guest house' - Lawmaker opens up

Jibrin alleged that Speaker Dogara offered lawmakers $25,000 to sign the Vote of Confidence Register opened at his guest house in Asokoro.

Jibrin who was an ally of Dogara has been in the news recently over allegations of budget padding, corruption and abuse of office against the speaker and 12 other members of the lower chamber.

The kano state lawmaker who was invited by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 accused Dogara and three other lawmakers of opening a Vote of Confidence Register at the speaker's guest house in Asokoro.

According to him, lawmakers were been offered $25,000 to sign the register.

"In a desperate attempt, corrupt Speaker Dogara and the 3 others have opened a register for a vote of confidence signature", he said.

The lawmaker dismissed allegations that he was being sponsored by external forces to destabilize the House.

"I'm also obliged to respond to some allegations that I am sponsored by some external forces to destabilize the House of Representatives. The worthless and laughable allegation is orchestrated by Speaker Dogara and his gang of thieves to discredit my unstoppable mission.

"No external forces in this matter, if there are any, they deserve commendation for sponsoring a struggle to wipe out corruption in the House.

"He will soon resort to religious blackmail forgetting I was the one, Muslim from northwest that spearhead & mobilize resources for his election."

Jibrin maintained that Speaker Dogara and his "gang of thieves" must all go down.
