‘Dogara planned to kidnap me,’ Lawmaker says

The lawmaker is accusing Dogara and 12 others of padding the 2016 budget and has reported them to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

According to Jibrin, he was only saved by the intervention of the Department of State Services (DSS).

“The quartet of Speaker Dogara and others were determined to abduct or kidnap me until few days when my lawyers requested and got maximum protection for me from the DSS and police,” he said via a statement released on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.

“I am confident that the party will do the rightful thing by throwing its weight to support our resolve to wipe out corrupt people and institutional corruption in the house and prevail or direct Speaker Yakubu Dogara, deputy speaker Yusuf Lasun, whip Alhassan Doguwa and minority leader Leo Ogor to reconvene the house immediately and Step aside to face their imminent prosecution and save the party and our dear country further embarrassment,” he added.

Jibrin also denied being summoned before the disciplinary committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over allegations of fraud levelled against Dogara.
