This was disclosed by Director, Air Force Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa via a statement released on Friday, March 25.
It reads:
“A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF/457) has veered off the runway at Yola Airport.”
“The incident happened yesterday (Thursday) at about 1900hrs (7:00pm) when the aircraft was returning from a late evening attack at the Sambisa Forest.”
“The aircraft, on landing, veered off the runway, and stopped at a ditch beside the runway.”
“No life was lost as both ‘pilots on board came out unhurt.”
Famuyiwa also said that investigations had begun into the cause of the accident.
