Mr Mohammad Kankara, Area Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, on Wednesday said it collected N123 million revenue in August.

He said such vital information will enable the officers to come out with stringent measures that would lead to the apprehension of smugglers and nipping the nefarious business in the bud.

Kankara told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Sokoto that prohibited items worth N100 million were confiscated while three suspects were arrested in the period.
Kankara said the seized goods included clothing materials/wrappers and second hand vehicles, among others.
He said the command had taken proactive measures that would ensure the arrest and prosecution of smugglers.
He reiterated the determination of the command to fight the menace of smugglers through more plausible measures.
Kankara also called for more support from the border communities by supplying the service with useful information.
