The Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) has resumed operations following a Turn-Around Maintenance (TAM) exercise carried out in the facility.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had announced in June that the PHRC would re-open as soon as the maintenance exercise was completed.

During a visit to the facility on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike praised technical staff of the refinery for efficiently concluding the TAM of the facility.

“I commend the staff of the PHRC for the successful completion of the TAM. It means that this facility will create more employment for the people,” Wike said.

The NNPC has also said that Nigeria’s three other refineries will resume operations in July following rehabilitation of the facilities.
