Court remands 3 alleged kidnappers in prison custody

The accused persons, whose addresses were not disclosed in the court, are facing a three-count charge of kidnapping, murder and conspiracy.

Court remands 3 alleged kidnappers in Ogun prison custody

An Ota Magistrates' Court in Ogun on Tuesday remanded three men; Isaac Uche,49, Sunday Aneato,26, and Opeyemi Sodeinde,18, in prison custody for allegedly kidnapping one Olalekan Olajide.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Abimbola, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody pending the receipt of legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs).

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Cpl. Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the accused persons and others still at large, committed the offences on June 11 at about 7.30 a.m., at No.10, Basiriju St., Babio Bus-Stop, in Ota.

Mustapha said that the accused persons and their accomplices conspired among themselves to kidnap an 8-year -old Olalekan Olajide, and in the process, killed him.

Abimbola, however, adjourned the case till Sept. 4 for mention.
