Former lawmaker commends state govt. for embracing TSA

He urged the government to ensure that funds domiciled in the TSA were utilised judiciously.

Ahmad Wadada

Wadada, who represented Kokona/Keffi/Karu Federal Constituency, gave the commendation on Sunday in an interview with newsmen in Keffi, Headquarters of Keffi Local Government Area.

The former lawmaker urged Gov. Umaru Al-Makura to adhere strictly to the rule of law and embark on projects that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

He advised the governor against utilising N17 billion to construct airport in Lafia, saying that the money should be utilised to provide infrastructural projects across villages in the state.

``Gov. Al-Makura should jettison the idea of building airport of any kind because it is not feasible and there is economic hardship in the state,'' he said.

The former lawmaker urged the government to intensify efforts to develop education and improve the welfare of workers in the state.

``No society can develop without sound education,’’ he said, adding that the recent strike by workers did not augur well for the development of the state.

Wadada said that his polo ranch project was aimed at bridging cultural, ethnic, religious and political divide among the people of the state.

He added that the project would promote tolerance, peace, create job opportunities and promote healthy life style among the people.

Wadada promised that 20 per cent of the money to be realised from the project would be channeled toward the development of education of the less privileged members of the society.

He said that the money would be managed by Wadada Education Foundation.
