Robbers kill nurse and child during bank raid

Also reported to have been hit and killed by a stray bullet from the sporadic shootings was a commercial motorcyclist.

A nurse, Jane Ndirika, who worked at the Igando General Hospital and her baby, Mmesoma, have been reportedly killed by armed robbers who raided two different banks in Festac area of Lagos State.

According to a report by Vanguard Newspaper, the over forty heavily armed robbers invaded two second generation banks in 4th Avenue, Festac area, carting away huge sums of money and leaving the nurse and her baby dead.

It was further reported that during the operation which lasted hours, the two-year-old Mmesoma and mum, Jane Ndirika, were hit by stray bullets that came from an adjoining building, were the bandits who were shooting sporadically in all directions raided.

The men of the Nigerian Police, who reportedly responded to distress call by residents an hour after,  allegedly recovered about N27 million and other rounds of arms and ammunition abandoned by the bandits while fleeing from the scene.
