A fire has broken out at the Eko market in the commercial hub of Marina in Lagos State.

The inferno is said to have started about 4am today, January 16, in one of the buildings at the Eko/Berlin market in the Mandilas building area.

Many buildings have been engulfed by the blaze and men of the fire service are reportedly battling to put out the fire.
The Director of the state fire service, Rasaq Fadipe has confirmed the incident while saying that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Parts of the nearby Balogun market were also recently burnt down during a fire outbreak on Monday, January 12.
