An Ikeja High Court in Lagos has set six suspected armed robbers free after prosecutor failed to provide witness.

The presiding judge, Justice K. A. Jose, had cautioned the prosecutor on March 25 that if it fails to produce witness at the next adjournment; he would strike out the charge.

The six suspects were arraigned by the Lagos State Government on a two-count charge of robbery and possession of firearms without license, but because the prosecutor, Abiola Ajayi could not provide witness (s), the judge dismissed the robbery charge.
The presiding judge, Justice K. A. Jose, had cautioned the prosecutor on March 25 that if it fails to produce witness at the next adjournment; he would strike out the charge.
The six accused are, Ismaila Bankole, 34; Akeem Ganiu, 30; Abass Ayanniyi, 31; Lukman Jimoh, 33; Lateef Amodu, 28, and Oluwaseun Soneye, 25.
However, Justice Jose discharged the suspects and warned them not to return to commit robbery.
