Contractors asked to return to site with N1B

He noted that with the release of funds, the contractors are expected to begin work on the projects without delay.

The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has just mobilised contractors in a bid to get them back to work.

According to Alhaji Demola Banu, the State Commissioner for Finance, the State government has released the sum of N500M to each of the contractors in charge of the two projects.

That brings the sum total to N1B.

He noted that with the release of the funds, the contractors are expected to begin work on the projects in earnest.

The commissioner added that the government will not tolerate unnecessary delays.

Speaking on the contract mobilisation, the Commissioner for works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya described the prompt release of funds to the contractors as a demonstration of the determination of the Governor to ensure that the projects are delivered on schedule.

He urged the contractors to execute the projects according to standards and specifications given by the State government.

Yahaya warned that the government will not accept any job that fails to meet agreed specification.

The Commissioner also restated the commitment of the State government to funding all ongoing and new projects across the State to completion.
