State Govt to recruit 600 medical personnel

Masari said that the state government was currently upgrading the Katsina, Funtua and Daura general hospitals by erecting new structures and buildings in them.

Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari

The governor made this known at a news conference in Katsina.

He said that the government would conduct the recruitment to reduce the work load on existing medical personnel in the state.

He added that “our medical personnel are currently being over worked due to few number in government hospitals and clinics.

“We observed that many medical personnel have retired or left the state government service and joined  Federal Health Institutions.

“The state government will soon start the recruitment of doctors, nurses, midwives and other health workers.

“We are committed to recruiting health personnel that will handle our hospitals,  primary health care centres, as well as clinics across the state.

“The recruitment becomes necessary in view of the non-recruitment of health workers by immediate past administration in the state.”

He said that the state government was also renovating the Dutsin-ma, Kankia and Malumfashi general hospitals.

The governor appealed to the people of the state to be patient as his administration was determined to provide standard medical services to all.
