Workers numbering over 1000 cut across the 23 Local Governments of the state said that they have not been paid since September.

Some of the staff in Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State told Pulse on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 that since the present administration came into office, some of them were just able to receive two months salaries.

"How will I pay house rent now," one of the unpaid staff lamented." He added: "Since October last year, I've not received my salary."

The Local Government staff who spoke to Pulse via phone call said they have complained to authorities but the responses have not resulted into payment.

Some government officials told Pulse that some of the staff have not been paid because October 2015 voucher was raised without their names included.

"Some of us in Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State don't even know what is happening. We barely feed our families because for the past six months, most of us have not been paid and none of the officials is telling us why we've not been paid” another unpaid worker said.

Many of the unpaid Local Government workers have made efforts aimed at solving their problems but all attempts seem to be failing.

"We went to Ministry of Finance, we went to Ministry for Local Government, and all of them were still directing us to other places" a staff of Kaduna South LGA said.

Kaduna State Government is yet to issue and official statement over the non payment.
