In Kaduna ABUTH resident doctors get new executive

Dr Sokomba Aliyu was elected as the new President, while Dr Umar Abdullahi, clinched the position of Vice President.

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) branch has elected new executive members to run the affairs of the association for the stipulated one year tenure.

This is contained in a statement by the out-going President, Dr Waziri Aliyu-Dahiru and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Zaria.

Aliyu-Dahiru said Dr Sokomba Aliyu was elected as the new President, while Dr Umar Abdullahi, clinched the position of Vice President.

He also said that Dr Sam Kwiss was elected as the Secretary.

He listed others elected to be Dr Irohibe Chigozie, Assistant Secretary, Dr Bilqis Muhammad, Treasurer, Dr Hamisu Yakubu, Financial Secretary, Dr Ibrahim Akambi, Internal Auditor and Dr Aisha Mustapha as Editor.

The out-going president said that the election was conducted under peaceful atmosphere devoid of rancour.

He urged the new officers to ensure continuity of past policies, adding that it was the only sure way to move the association forward.
