Immunisation manager commends FG over supply of polio vaccines

The manager said that more than 38,000 children were being inoculated against polio virus and other child killer diseases in the area.

Sulaiman made the commendation at the de-briefing of the concluded polio immunisation exercise on Wednesday in Birniwa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the October round immunisation started on Saturday and rounded off on Tuesday in the 27 local government areas of the state.

Sulaiman said that more than 38,000 children were being inoculated against polio virus and other child killer diseases in the area.

He explained that the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHDCA) had supplied 45,000 doses of vaccines, which facilitated smooth conduct of the exercise.

The manager said that the agency provided cold room facilities for effective storage of vaccines and logistics support to immunisation personnel.

Sulaiman noted that the gesture would facilitate total eradication of the disease in the country.

He also commended the local council and community leaders over their support as well as mobilising participation in the exercise.

Meanwhile, more than 51,000 children were immunised against polio virus in Kirikasamma local government council of the state.

The Immunisation Officer, Malam Ibrahim Bura, said that the primary healthcare agency had supplied 60,900 doses of vaccines for the exercise in the area.

Bura lauded the contributions of community and religious leaders for the successful conduct of the exercise.
