Mr Obinna Nsirim, the new Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Public Holidays, made this known during his maiden media briefing in Owerri on Tuesday.
Nsirim said the local government areas would each receive N20m for the project, adding that the government was doing everything possible to ensure that pensioners received their pension arrears in line with a previous agreement.
He also said that civil servants would get two-month salary arrears before Christmas.
The commissioner pledged to dish out credible information to the media at all times while urging journalists to be sure of their facts in their reportage.
“I urge you to do your best to report the truth at all times and I will do the same in my capacity as the Commissioner for Information.
“I promise to release only information that is true and based on facts; I will not exaggerate anything or tell lies just to make the government look good,” he said.
