Former gubernatorial candidate calls for patience over recession

Lemchi, of the defunct ANPP has called on Nigerians to be patient with President Muhammdu Buhari’s change agenda.

Lemchi, of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), made the call in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that President Buhari was on track with the war against corruption, adding that the future is bright.

“Corruption has dealt with this country very badly in the past; the government cannot eradicate it easily; it can only be eradicated gradually and patiently.

“The President has a good vision for the country; he cannot achieve that vision without eliminating the enemy called corruption,’’ the politician said.

Stressing that no economy would grow under “glaring corrupt practices,’’, Lemchi urged Nigerians to support the war against corruption.

The former gubernatorial candidate congratulated Nigerians for believing in Buhari’s capability to change the country for the better.

He said that nothing good comes easily; adding that what the country was passing through at the moment was a march towards economic buoyancy.

According to him, Nigeria under Buhari is in safe hands, what he only requires is cooperation.

“President Buhari is not a magician; he cannot do it alone, he needs the collective effort of all Nigerians,’’ he said.

Lemchi, who expressed confidence in the APC-led federal government, said it was time for Nigerians to key into the change agenda.

He also called on Nigerians to return to agriculture and engage in farming to enable the country achieve food security.
