The Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian Police in Enugu on Monday nabbed two suspected cultists for allegedly initiating some members in the state capital.

The command's spokesperson in the state, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, said the suspects were nabbed on Sept. 19 at Ogui axis of the state.

He gave the suspects' names as Benjamin Ofuoke from Izzi in Ebonyi State and Collins Chukwu from Ezioha in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The two boys, alongside other suspected cultists now at large, allegedly converged for cult initiations on Sept. 19 at Ogui.

He also said that the security operatives arrested the suspects following a tip-off.

However, the Police public relations officer said that two suspects were arrested while a manhunt for the others was ongoing.

According to the spokesperson, Ofuoke claimed to be a carpenter and expressed regret for joining the cult while Chukwu blamed one of his friends from Emene in Enugu for luring him to join the JVC Confraternity in 2012.

"I have been struggling to leave the group since my brother; Amaechi Chukwu, was killed in 2012 by rival cult group in Emene,'' he said
