Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi, the wife of the Enugu State Governor, on Friday in Enugu, launched Paul Nnajiofor Free Medical Outreach for people in Nkanu East.

The Medical Outreach was organised by Paul Nnajiofor, a member representing the people of Nkanu East at the State House of Assembly in partnership with other medical organisations.

The outreach was tagged: “Ononenyi Free Medical Outreach’’ and in partnership with State Ministry of Health, Royal Health Foundation base in Port Harcourt, Inland Medical Pharmacy Ltd. Asata, Enugu among others.

While launching the Free Medical Outreach, Mrs Ugwuanyi called on all the citizens to inculcate the habit of checking their health status.

She urged the people of Nkanu East to utilise the opportunity to know their health status so that they will be given free treatment.

In his address of welcome, Nnajiofor said that he will strive continually to offer selfless service to the constituency and humanity as a way of appreciating his hometown.

He said that he is intervening in three areas as part of his constituency social responsibility initiatives.

He mentioned the areas to be, Health through Free Medical Outreach, Education through bursary and scholarship awards to some Indigent students and Human Empowerment Programme through skill acquisition, entrepreneurship training and talent development.

“We will take this free medical outreach to the four development areas in Nkanu East to ensure that we touch the lives of the people at the remote areas,’’ he said.

The house member earlier inaugurated a 14-member Advisory Committee from Nkanu East Constituency and they are expected to feed him with the people necessary basic needs.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman, Nkanu East Local Government Areas (LGA) caretaker committee, Mr Ikechukwu Ubagu, said that the free medical outreach was the first of its kind in the area.

He thanked the Governor and the House of Assembly members for their immense projects in the council since the new administration took office.
