Communities ban Fulani herdsmen from grazing on their land

The statement released by the chairmen also accused the Fulani herdsmen of rape, armed robbery and destruction of property.

Following last week’s killing of a palmwine tapper by suspected Fulani herdsmen, some communities in Delta state have banned them from grazing in the farm lands.

According to Vanguard Newspapers, a statement signed by  the Chairmen of Isoko North and Ndokwa East councils, Mr. Emmanuel Egbabor and Mrs. Nkechi Chukura respectively, warned members of the community not to allocate land to the herdsmen.

You will recall that the Fulani herdsmen were also accused of kidnapping the former Secretary to the Government of the federation, Chief Olu Falae.

Femi Fani Kayode also lent his voice to the call for the herdsmen to be banned from grazing in the South-West.

You will recall also, that on November 6, 2015, a 42 year old father of three, was reportedly butchered by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Egede, Udi Local Govt Area of Enugu State.

The Association of Fulani Chiefs and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has since denied the allegation that their members kidnapped Chief Falae.
