Soldiers discover 23 human skulls, skeletons in militant camps

The Operation Delta Safe said the camps, located in Akpabuyo local government areas, have been destroyed.

 

The Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre, Operation Delta Safe, Lieutenant Colonel Olaolu Dauda, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, October 27.

It said the skulls, skeletons and other human parts in various stages of decomposition were discovered in the camps belonging to suspected members of the Bakassi Strike Force in Bakassi and Akpabuyo local government areas.

The camps located at Ikot Ene Idem, Abakpa and Ikang Inam communities were destroyed on Wednesday, the statement said.

Similarly, it also said 44 suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra were arrested during the inauguration of the Bayelsa State chapter of the group.

According to the statement, the arrested suspects were apprehended at Lakeview Club, along Mabinton Estate, Okaka Road in Bayelsa State while trying to disrupt public peace.
