Locals of the area trapped by Boko Haram insurgents were being screened for onward movement to official makeshift camps in Maiduguri when the incident happened.

According to reports, the suicide bomber allegedly left at least seven people dead in a transit camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
It was further reported that the National Emergency Management Agency sources said the explosive was detonated by the female suicide bomber as displaced persons were been evacuated to the capital city from Dikwa local council.
While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, it is believed that the Boko Haram insurgents are largely suspected to be responsible.
Meanwhile, three officials of the Civilian Joint Task Force were also injured in the attack.
