Pulse recalls that Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, had on March 24, released a videoto prove to his followers that he is alive and urging them to surrender.

The Nigerian Army has however discredited the footage, noting it could be a ploy to distract the military from its ongoing assault on the terrorists' dens in sambisa forest.

The video has also been subjected to forensic analysis to ascertain its authenticity.
