Foreign company to harness state's mineral resources

Due to the dwindling of oil in the country, the Adamawa State government is intensifying efforts toward diversifying the economy by harnessing its mineral resources in order to get alternative revenue away from oil.

This was the focus of a  United States of America based Company BTP Swiss Enterprises on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 when they visited Adamawa to assist the state in diversifying its economy.

A delegation of the company led by Nigerian based American Professor, Akin Afolabi, said during a courtesy visit to Governor Muhammadu Umar  Jibrilla  of Adamawa State on Wednesday , June 15, 2016 that the company which  specializes in harnessing  mineral Resources and creating better opportunity was in the country in response to President Muhammadu Buhari’s call to Nigerian citizens living  abroad to come home and contribute their quota in moving the nation forward.

He explained that Adamawa is rich in uranium and thorium solid minerals’ and other undiscovered noting that they  visited the state to discuss possible ways of diversifying the economy of the state instead of it relying on the federal government monthly statutory allocation.

The Acting Governor of the state Engineer Martins Babale who received the delegation on behalf of the government said that he was delighted on the proposal by the company, saying that, the state is ready to partner with them.
