Governor promises to pay Edo workers promptly

Obaseki said this at an event organised to mark the May Day celebration in Edo state.

According to Vanguard, the Governor said that he will make sure all salaries are paid on the 26th day of every month.

Obaseki also called on the civil servants to improve their attitude to work, adding that they have to be efficient in their service delivery.

The Edo Governor promised to improve the working condition of the workers, as introduce a reward system.

He said “I have no doubt that working together and putting the interest of our state first, we can rapidly reposition our state for peace and progress. Be assured that this Government will not take your support for granted. Our most valued asset as a government is our workers. Labour and Government must collaborate to assist the Local Governments to restructure so that they would be better positioned to address their perennial problems of unpaid salaries and pensions, low revenue generation and poor service delivery.”

Obaseki said the Civil Service Training School will be upgraded, so civil servants will be trained for better service delivery.
