The killer herdsmen have been named as the fourth deadliest terror group in the world by the Global Terrorism Index (GTI).

According to the report, the herdsmen are believed to have killed at least 1,229 people in Nigeria in 2014.

In confirmation of this report, a victim’s relative, simply identified as Samaila, tells Jola Sotubo how his uncle was brutally murdered by the herdsmen, and how such murders occur daily in the affected states.

He explained how his uncle, a pastor, had gone to gather wood with some of his church members when he was attacked by the herdsmen.

“He was the only person that was the target. They went for him. He could not run, he was trying to fight them but he couldn’t succeed,” Samaila said over the phone during an episode of Frankly Speaking With Jola Sotubo.

“In the struggle… they chopped off his hands and they left him bleeding… Before they could rush him to the hospital, he gave up,” he added.

Samaila also explained how the killings occur on an hourly basis, but have gotten almost no attention from the government.
