5 Nigerians named among world’s richest people

Microsoft founder, Bill Gates, retains his position as the world’s richest person with a net worth of $79.2 Billion.

Forbes has released its 2015 list of the richest people in the world and five Nigerians are featured on the list.

Microsoft founder, Bill Gates, retains his position as the world’s richest person with a net worth of $79.2 Billion.

Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote still retains his position as the richest man in Africa despite losing $10.3 billion of his fortune due to devaluation of the Naira and a shrinking demand for cement, his largest asset.

Other Nigerians on the list are Mike Adenuga with a net worth of $4.2 Billion, Folorunsho Alakija with $2 Billion, Femi Otedola with $1 Billion and Abdulsamad Rabiu also with $1 Billion.

Nigerians who were dropped from the list were the Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu and former Imo State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu who were among last year’s newcomers.
