Ex minister spends the night in EFCC custody

FFK denied the fraud allegations levelled against him, describing them as baseless, wicked, shameful and irresponsible.

 

A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode who spent the night in the custody of the anti-graft agency, reports say.

FFK was given a letter of invitation of Friday, May 6, 2016, to appear before the EFCC on Monday, May 9, 2016.

The former minister has been under investigation by the EFCC for allegedly receiving varying sums of money for the 2015 presidential campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

FFK reportedly denied the fraud allegations levelled against him, describing them as baseless, wicked, shameful and irresponsible.

Asource who spoke to Premium Times said “Nobody has granted him administrative bail

“He is still being questioned and he will be passed to another set of investigators when he finishes answering here.

“There is more than one case against him.”

Fani-Kayode has been linked with the $15b arms purchase fund, allegedly diverted by the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.

FFK was also the spokesperson of the Goodluck Jonathan campaign team ahead of the 2015 presidential election.
