Governor Nasir El-Rufai has lifted the curfew imposed on two Local Government Areas in Southern Kaduna.

El-rufai announced the lifting of the curfew in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas after a meeting with security chiefs in the state.

The Governor had earlier suspended the curfew in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

The suspension of curfew in the areas is coming barely two weeks after the Nigerian Army launched a military operation to purge the zone of criminal elements.

The military operation was code-named 'Harbin Kunama II'.

Elrufai's spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, said the Governor's action was based on the outcome of the Kaduna State Security Council.

The curfew was imposed on the two local governments in December 2016 and early this year, following renewed crisis.
