A suspect who was being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly died in the agency’s custody.

Suleiman Yerima, a businessman and foreign exchange dealer, is said to have passed on at the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos.

Suleiman Yerima, a businessman and foreign exchange dealer, is said to have passed on at the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos.
The deceased reportedly slumped while praying on Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Muslim ground in the prison.
He was taken to a hospital but later pronounced dead, according to PR Nigeria, an organisation that releases statements for security agencies.

Yerima is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest which eventually led to his death.
