The unidentified patient, a female, will receive treatment at the Royal Free hospital in the British capital.
She arrived at the hospital on Tuesday, December 30 in an ambulance which was guarded by police officers.
"We think so far certainly the clinical care for her is going as expected," The Director for Health Protection at Public Health England, Paul Cosford, said on BBC radio.
The infected woman is a National Health Service worker, who had been working with the charity, Save the Children in Sierra Leone before her arrival into Glasgow on Sunday, December 28, aboard a British Airways flight.
Authorities in Scotland have said that the disease was diagnosed in its early stages so the risk of transmission to others is low.
