RATTAWU confers posthumous award on former minister

The late former Minister of Information and Communication was honoured at RATTAWU’s First National Merit Award held in Abuja

Akunyili was honoured at RATTAWU’s First National Merit Award held in Abuja.

RATTAWU’s National President Yemisi  Bamgbose, said that the late Akunyili was honoured because of her immense contributions in the struggle for a better welfare package for media workers.

“We decided to honour her posthumously today because of her efforts at securing better welfare for our members.

“Whatever we are enjoying today as improved welfare package was made possible with her efforts.

“We believe award should be bestowed only to those who have genuinely contributed to society and most especially as it concerns us, the Media Sector,“ he said.
