Ghanaian businessman fingered as ex-minister's accomplice

Reports reaching Pulse News, says that a Ghanaian Oil Tycoon, Kevin Okyere has been implicated in the money laundering scandal involving ex-petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Sahara Reporters reports that he was linked to the scandal through another accomplice of Diezani, Melanie Spencer.

The report said £10,000 was also found on Melanie Spencer.

According to Sahara Reporters, Spencer's residence, 14A St Johns Wood Road, NW8 8RE in London, was purchased on May 30, 2014 by Kevin Okyere for £4.5 million.

The report also said Okyere served as Diezani's personal assistant in 2014.

Also, Okyere's company, Springfield Energy Ltd, was awarded a $40 billion annual contract awarded by Mrs. Alison-Madueke in April 2014.

Sahara Reporters also said that Springfield Energy Ltd, was given juicy contracts to lift Crude Oil in 2014 by the former petroleum minister.

According to Sahara Reporters, Okyere is a very influential man in Ghana.

Adding that that "Mr. Okyere is married to Melanie Spencer, a niece of Rebecca Akufor -Addo, the wife of the NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Akufor-Addo. Melanie Spencer is the daughter of a former Ghana Airways pilot, Powis Spencer."
