Fani-Kayode says former NSA is being witch-hunted

Dasuki has been accused of diverting about N337 billion in funds meant for purchasing arms for Nigeria’s fight against terror.

Sambo Dasuki

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the recent indictment against former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki for alleged fraud is a witch-hunt.

The allegations were made public on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, via a statement released by President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina.

“How can it be right to order the arrest of Sambo Dasuki when he was never invited or questioned by the probe panel? It is a witchunt,” Fani-Kayode said via Twitter today, November 18.

It however appears that the former minister has deleted the tweet as a search of his time line shows that it’s no longer there.

Dasuki was indicted by a panel constituted by Buhari to investigate arms deals in the country from 2007-2015.

The former NSA, in reaction to the charges, said that he was embarrassed that the president had ordered his arrest despite the fact that he was never invited by the panel.

He also expressed surprise that only his name was mentioned despite the fact that he was appointed NSA in 2012.
