”The document is the first of its kind with comprehensive information of cancer patterns in 16 states and the FCT.

“It revealed that breast, cervical and ovarian cancers are the most common in Nigerian women.”Prostrate and colo-rectum cancers are the most prevalent for men in Nigeria.”

”18 cancer registries in the country contributed data which was analysed for use by researchers and policy makers,” he said.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigerian National System of Cancer Registries was formed as collaboration between the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), the Federal Ministry of Health and the Society of Oncology and Cancer Research of Nigeria.
