‘Extradition case against Senator not over,’ NDLEA says

The NDLEA said further that it was simply obeying the court orders given but would still pursue the case to its legal conclusion.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said that it still plans to arrest and extradite Senator Buruji Kashamu to the US to face drug charges.

This was disclosed on Wednesday, June 11, 2015, by the agency’s spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju.

“We have obeyed court orders and he (Kashamu) had been sworn in. But the case is not over,” Ofoyeju said.

“He had gone to court to seek several orders to stop the NDLEA from proceeding with his extradition but we shall explore legal steps in the pursuit of the case to a logical end,” he added.

The NDLEA had earlier filed an extradition suit and procured an arrest warrant against Kashamu but the case was thrown out by a Lagos Federal High Court.
