Why President can’t spend money recovered from looters – Osuolale
The Buhari administration, on June 4, 2016, revealed that it had recovered sums of N78,325,354,631.82, $185,119,584.61, £3,508,355.46 and €11,250, from looters between May 29, 2015 and May 25, 2016.
Osuolale made the comment during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“People are saying where are the fund recovered so far by the government, as a retired police officer, the funds are exhibits,” he said.
“Unless the cases are disposed of in court, the government cannot spend the recovered looted funds because it is only the court that can give the go ahead. And that is why people have to wait and see what happened at the end of the day,” he added.
