President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the US and other countries have offered Nigeria their full cooperation in the recovery of funds stolen from government coffers.

Buhari made the comments on Tuesday, June 23, while receiving members of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This was disclosed via a statement released by presidential media aide, Femi Adesina.

According to the statement, Buhari said that Nigeria only has to provide the international community with the facts and figures needed to drive the recovery effort.

“In the next three months, our administration will be busy getting those facts and the figures to help us recover our stolen funds in foreign countries,” the President said according to the statement.

Buhari earlier in the day told Nigeria’s state governors that the era of financial impunity in the country had come to an end.
