According to THISDAY Newspapers, a source at the meeting when President Buhari met with US officials, said that "the US officials were somewhat disappointed with the president’s team during the visit, which comprised mainly civil servants."

The source also said that "that the US reckoned that the civil servants would not be able to address any of the country’s requests or provide policy direction until Buhari sets up a team that would help him realise his plans for the country."

Adding that President Obama also mentioned to President Buhari that he expects him to come to the US with important members of his cabinet, so they could discuss fruitfully.
