President replaces Kachikwu with Maikanti Baru as NNPC boss

The new board of NNPC, it was revealed, will be chaired by Kachikwu, who remains, the Minister of State for Petroleum.

 

According to a Facebook post by the presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, Kachikwu was replaced by Baru after the President approved a board to see to the affairs of the NNPC.

In his words, "President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the composition of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), as provided for under Section 1(2) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Act of 1997, as amended."

The new board is composed of the following:A. Chairman-Dr Emmanuel , Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum;B. Group Managing Director- Dr ;C. The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance; andD. The following six persons:1. Mallam 2. Dr 3. Dr 4. Dr 5. Mallam and6. Mallam .President Buhari urges the new board to ensure the successful delivery of the mandate of the NNPC, ” and serve the nation by upholding the public trust placed on them in managing this critical national asset.”
