The President's adviser on New Media said top on the agenda at the meeting was the stabilisation of the foreign exchange market.
The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, announced this on Twitter.
He said Buhari and Emefiele met at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to him, the CBN Governor briefed the President about the apex bank's activities.
Bashir said top on the agenda was the stabilisation of the foreign exchange market.
Emefiele is one of the very few government officials the President was reported to have held meetings with since he was confined to his official residence on doctors' recommendation.
