President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday, August 21, met behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Buhari returned from London, United Kingdom, on Saturday, August 19, where he had been on medical leave for over 100 days.

Osinbajo was believed to have briefed the President on some of the developments that took place while he was away.

According to Punch, the meeting was held inside one of the offices located inside Buhari's official residence.

Nassarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura was also said to have visited Buhari on Monday to welcome him back to the country and congratulate him on his recovery.

Despite the criticisms and controversies that trailed his prolonged absence, Buhari's return was met with even more condemnation following his first national address on Monday, which many including a former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili, described as "a terrible case of missed opportunity."

In the speech Buhari addressed issues such as the country's unity as well as Boko Haram's resurgence in the north.

However, many criticised him for not addressing persistent questions about his ill health that kept him out of the country for 103 days.
