Adesina however said that he doesn’t speak with the president directly, but with the people around him.

The presidential aide made the disclosure after being asked, during a Channels TV interview, if he’s in touch with the president.

“Daily,” he answered “I’m not saying I speak with him direct, but I’m in touch with London daily, the people around him we speak daily,” he added.

Adesina has also said that President Buhari will be back in the country sooner than expected.

“In his communication to the National Assembly, it was not indicated, and we just have to stay with what he has told us, but what I’ll just say is that the president may be coming back sooner than expected,” he said.

“Because we hear all the rumours, we see all the malice, all the mischief, all the malevolence against the president; all those people will be surprised, the president may be coming back sooner than they think,” he added.

Concerns have been heightened over Buhari’s health status since he departed the country for a 10-day medical vacation in January.

The situation was escalated after Buhari, on Sunday, February 5, announced an indefinite extension of his medical leave.

Adesina had earlier stated that only the president could reveal the true status of his health to Nigerians, a sentiment which has been echoed by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
