Group commends President over dialogue with Niger Delta elders

The President General of the group, Dr Ufot Phenson, said in Uyo on Tuesday that the dialogue would bring lasting solution to the ongoing militancy and under-development of the area.

He said that the group has passed a vote of confidence on the credibility of the people selected from Akwa Ibom to represent the state in the dialogue team.

Phenson noted that the state representatives in the dialogue team are people of proven integrity, filled with wisdom as well as committed to the cause of their fatherland.

“We are glad that President Muhammadu Buhari has finally commenced dialogue with the Niger Delta Elders Forum with a view to finding a lasting solution to the ongoing militancy and under development in the Niger Delta Region.

“The group has passed a vote of confidence on the credibility of the persons appointed from Akwa Ibom to serve in the dialogue team.

“The Akwa Ibom representatives in the dialogue team are people of proven integrity, imbued with wisdom and committed to the cause of their fatherland.

“We have no doubt that they will make robust and highly intellectual contributions to the committee and deliver on the mandate for which they were appointed,” Phenson said.
