Here are three things you should know about the planned conversation:

  1. It will hold at 3:45pm Nigerian time, which will be 9:45am in Washington and 2:45pm in London.

  2. The proposed call has been confirmed by Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina.

  3. After speaking with Buhari, Trump will speak with South African President, Jacob Zuma today at 5:10 pm.

The planned conversation has caught Nigerians by surprise due to Buhari’s long silence since leaving the country on January 19 for a 10-day medical vacation in London.

The Presidency has been forced to deny death rumours fuelled by the president’s lack of communication and insists that the president is “hale and hearty.”

However, concerns about the president’s health were intensified when he wrote the Senate on February 5 requesting an indefinite extension of his medical leave.

In a bid to quell the rumours however, the Presidency has released photos of the president in London; first of him resting in a chair at the Abuja House and subsequently receiving All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, Bola Tinubu and Bisi Akande.

The president was also pictured in a photo with his wife, Aisha during his stay in London.
