The Economic and Financial ‎Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly stopped journalists from entering its premises on Monday, August 1, 2016.

According to The Cable, newsmen had stormed the Commission's headquarters to follow up on the petition by Abdulmumin Jibrin against the  speaker of the house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and 11 others, over the budget padding scandal that has rocked the lower chamber in the past weeks.

It was gathered that upon Jibrin's arrival at the EFCC, journalists were gated out without any explanations.
